Genetic diversity and relationships among populations of Camellia japonica, an endangered species in China

چکیده

Camellia japonica, an evergreen ornamental plant in the Theaceae, its natural range is now shrinking. This evidenced by fact that species on verge of extinction Laoshan Mountain (Qingdao), northernmost area China for population C. japonica. Little known about genetic diversity and relationships among cultivated wild japonica populations. 180 samples six populations were tested with SSR markers; these included three populations, two Qingdao, one Daqingshan. The average values polymorphism information content (PIC), expected heterozygosity (He), Shannon’s index (I) 0.5849, 0.6385 1.3170, respectively, indicating has a high diversity. diversities rank order as follows: Daqingshan > Zhongshan Park Changmenyan Island Daguan Botanical Garden May Fourth Square. geographical isolation islands had no significant influence Clustering results showed could be grouped into categories, most clustered according to their origin background. These also reconfirmed (Naidong) Qingdao originated from Island. Genetic variation was highest within (89%), can protected at level. findings will prove useful analysis, protection, horticultural use

phylogeography and genetic diversity of the lesser mouse- eared bat (myotis blythii) in iran

in current study, 63 samples of bat populations collected from differ regions were used for evaluating the geographic variations. twenty cranial and dental characters for traditional morphometric and landmarks method on the ventral, dorsal skull and mandible for geometry morphometric studies were used. statistical analyses of traditional morphometric and geometry morphometric data indicated low...

Genetic relationships in a germplasm collection of Camellia japonica and Camellia oleifera using SSR analysis.

Camellia japonica produces different color and bigger flowers, widely being used for gardening green in southern China. However, cultivars were introduced from different regions, but their origin and pedigree information is either not available poorly documented, causing problems in authentication. Many low-yield trees in Camellia oleifera forests have been used as stocks for grafting C. japoni...

Genetic diversity of natural populations of Machilus thunbergii, an endangered tree species in eastern China, determined with ISSR analysis.

The genetic diversity of 10 Machilus thunbergii populations in eastern China was analyzed using inter-simple sequence repeat markers. The populations showed high genetic diversity, with an overall population genetic diversity of 0.2343. Genetic diversity varied largely among populations, and populations with the highest genetic diversity were mainly from the eastern and western parts of the nat...

Effect of domestication on the genetic diversity and structure of Saccharina japonica populations in China

Saccharina japonica is a commercially and ecologically important seaweed and is an excellent system for understanding the effects of domestication on marine crops. In this study, we used 19 selected simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers to investigate the influence of domestication on the genetic diversity and structure of S. japonica populations. Wild kelp populations exhibited higher genetic d...

Genetic Relationships among Four Saudi Arabian Sheep Populations

Four Saudi Arabian indigenous sheep populations including Najdi, Hbsi, Arb, and Naemi were genotyped for 16 microsatellite markers recommended by the food and agriculture organization (FAO). This study aims to provide information on the genetic structure of the breeds analyzed and give indications and proposals for the cross breeding program. All loci were polymorphic in all populations and loc...
